The new Seppi E10 Direct forestry mulching head presented at Agritechnica 2025 aims to make forestry operations more efficient and precise, even in hard-to-reach areas.
This is achieved in part thanks to the reduced energy absorption ensured by a direct-drive transmission integrated into the patented triple-helix “Helix Rotor”

Improved operational efficiency and greater sustainability in forestry work are the key goals underpinning the design of the new “E10 Direct” forestry head unveiled by Seppi in Hanover. During development, engineers at the Mezzolombardo-based company focused on optimizing the functional efficiency of the attachment for the most demanding applications carried out in environments that are difficult to access and cannot be tackled with large, heavy-duty machines.
For this reason, the “E10 Direct” is specifically intended for compact excavators with operating weights ranging from 2.5 to 6 tons, thanks to its ability to work with low energy absorption even in the presence of stones and other foreign objects on the ground, mulching dense vegetation, shrubs, and stumps up to 10 centimeters in diameter.

A major contribution to achieving this performance comes from the presence of a high peripheral-speed, triple-helix rotor known as the “Helix Rotor,” operating with fixed “Mini Blade V-Lock” tools reinforced with tungsten carbide inserts. Their action is controlled by the “Cut Control” system, which limits cutting depth according to the type of operation and material being processed, reducing the tool’s contact surface with the material.
This ensures precise mulching while eliminating the risk of rotor blockage. As a result, the attachment can always operate under constant loads, without the risk of energy absorption peaks. This is further supported by the presence of a partially rotor-integrated direct hydraulic transmission, which reduces power losses caused by friction by 50 percent.
The primary beneficiary of these solutions is the triple-helix rotor itself, which is thus able to withstand high lateral loads and operate effectively even in a vertical position. At the same time, there is no risk of damage to the working components, thanks to the use of high-strength “AR400” steel in the construction of the machine body, assuring operators of the attachment’s long service life.
